Agodi Gardens

Agodi Gardens is a large garden area in Ibadan featuring a water park, a lake, botanical collections, playgrounds, and spaces for outdoor activities. The site is laid out so visitors can walk between different sections using clearly marked pathways.

The site was founded in 1967 under the name Agodi Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Following a devastating flood in 1980, the grounds underwent major reconstruction and reshaping.

The gardens serve as a popular meeting place in Ibadan where families and communities gather to celebrate festivals and local events. People use this space for social occasions and to spend time together outdoors.

The gardens have ample parking and multiple entry points for easy access. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended since there are many pathways to explore throughout the site.

The location sits at the border between Nigerian savannah and forest zones, allowing it to host plant species from both ecosystems. Visitors can see in one place how different the plant life is across these neighboring regions.
