Villa Volta

Villa Volta features a rotating chamber where visitors sit on benches that swing up to 30 degrees, creating an illusion of turning upside down.

The attraction opened in April 1996 as the first Vekoma madhouse, pioneering a new category of amusement rides in European theme parks.

The ride narrative incorporates the legend of Bokkenrijders, an 18th-century group of bandits who supposedly flew on goats across southern Netherlands.

The complete experience lasts 10 minutes and accommodates 1200 visitors per hour through a series of pre-shows and the main rotation sequence.

Each visitor enters the cursed mansion of Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen, where a combination of rotating drums and swinging benches creates disorienting effects.
