Voorburg

Voorburg is a town in South Holland that stretches along the Vliet canal with residential neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, and historic buildings throughout. The community sits near The Hague and blends suburban and urban characteristics in its layout.

The settlement began as Forum Hadriani in 69-70 AD and served as a center for the Cananefates tribe until Germanic invasions in the third century. This Roman foundation shaped the development of the later communities that make up the town today.

Philosopher Baruch Spinoza completed his Theological Political Treatise while residing in Voorburg between 1663 and 1670, marking a period of intellectual productivity.

The town has three railway stations on the Hague-Utrecht line offering direct connections to larger cities in the region. This good access makes it easy to explore the surrounding area.

Sportpark Westvliet is home to the Voorburg Cricket Club, recognized by the International Cricket Council as an official venue for international cricket matches. This status is surprising for a Dutch town.
