Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, shopping mall in the Philippines
Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall is a shopping center in Cainta, Rizal, made up of several connected buildings that house a supermarket, cinemas, dining areas, and a wide range of retail shops. The layout is organized across multiple floors with broad corridors linking sections for clothing, household goods, and electronics.
The mall opened in 1991 as the first large shopping center in the area, marking a turning point for retail in this part of Rizal. It grew in phases, with expansions in 1993 and 1998, each adding new commercial and entertainment sections to the original structure.
The name 'Sta. Lucia' refers to a saint and has shaped the identity of this shopping center since it first opened. It serves as a social gathering spot for families from Cainta and nearby towns, who come here to spend time together on weekends and holidays.
The center has a large parking area, so arriving by car is straightforward even during busy periods, though roads nearby can get congested on weekends. Those coming without a car can use the nearby Marikina-Pasig Line 2 station, which connects the area to other parts of the city.
On the third floor there is a bowling alley with 32 lanes that many visitors walk past without noticing. Right next to it is World of Fun, an entertainment area with high ceilings that draws children and teenagers away from the shopping floors below.
