Bagong Silang, Administrative barangay in Caloocan, Philippines.
Bagong Silang is a former administrative district in northern Caloocan that covered approximately 574 hectares. The Marilao River forms its eastern boundary, separating it from Bulacan province.
The area emerged in 1971 from the Tala Estate and was established as Barrio Bagong Silang at that time. In 1974, it officially became a barangay under the administration of that period.
The name Bagong Silang means 'new beginning' in Tagalog, reflecting the identity of residents who were relocated here from other parts of the city. Community members still connect their neighborhood identity to this founding concept.
The area had extensive school facilities with seven public elementary schools and three secondary schools serving the local population. Infrastructure was designed to support a large residential community.
In August 2024, the area was divided into six separate administrative units through a public voting process. This division ended a notable chapter, as it had previously been the largest single district of its kind in the country.
