Jakuszyce

Jakuszyce sits at the highest elevation of Szklarska Poręba, ringed by spruce forests. The quarter features good access to trails and facilities designed for winter sports activities.

After World War II, the area was transformed into a winter sports center as old village structures were modernized for recreational use. This shift made it a leading destination for skiing in Poland.

The Piast Run, Poland's largest cross-country skiing race, draws thousands of participants to the snow-covered trails here each winter. The event shapes the local winter season and connects visitors from many countries through their shared sport.

The Polana Jakuszycka train station connects the quarter to Szklarska Poręba Górna and Liberec, with multiple trains departing from early morning onward. The location makes it easy to reach different skiing zones and nearby mountain valleys.

The quarter maintains consistent snow coverage from December through April, making it the preferred choice for cross-country skiers across Poland. This extended snow season provides a reliable training and competition period rarely found elsewhere in the region.
