Lake Solina, Artificial reservoir in Bieszczady Mountains, Poland

Lake Solina is a reservoir in the Bieszczady Mountains of Subcarpathian Voivodeship in southeastern Poland. Three forested islands rise from the water, and the bay lines curve along the old valleys that formed when the basin was flooded.

The reservoir was formed in 1968 after nine villages were cleared and flooded to generate hydroelectric power for the region. Residents were relocated, and the old valley disappeared beneath the rising water behind the dam.

The reservoir takes its name from the village of Solina, now submerged beneath the water. Today, families come to swim and camp along the shores, where small beach areas and boat docks make the water accessible.

The shores are lined with walking paths, and several small towns along the water rent boats and kayaks. Wind can blow strongly across the open surface, so caution is advised when paddling or sailing.

Since 2022, a cableway runs over the dam, spanning one and a half kilometers. The ride offers views of the water beneath the cabins and the mountain slopes rising on both sides.
