Zwierzyniec

Zwierzyniec is a town situated along the Wieprz River in the Lublin Voivodeship, positioned at an elevation of approximately 215 meters (705 feet). It lies within the boundaries of Roztocze National Park, giving the area a connection to the region's natural landscape.

The Zamoyski family founded the town in 1593 and developed it as a settlement centered on forest management and brewing industries. These early economic activities shaped the community's foundation for centuries to come.

The baroque chapel on the lake island serves as St John Nepomucene Parish Church, connecting generations of residents through religious traditions. It remains a focal point for the community's spiritual life and reflects the importance of faith in local identity.

The town functions as a railway junction connecting Rejowiec Fabryczny with Hrebenne and offering transport links to Stalowa Wola through Biłgoraj. These rail connections make it straightforward to reach the town and travel onward to neighboring areas.

The artificial lake contains several islands, one of which is dedicated to the memory of Queen Marysieńka Sobieska's hunting dogs. This unusual historical dedication reveals a curious connection between the local landscape and royal history.
