Museum of the Earth of Polish Academy of Sciences

The Museum of the Earth of Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw houses a large collection of geological specimens. The exhibition displays minerals, precious stones, meteorites, rocks, and Baltic amber that document the Earth's natural history.

The museum was founded in 1948 continuing the work of the Earth Museum Society established in 1932. It became an official part of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1959.

The marble steps inside the museum contain preserved traces of blood from the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, serving as a historical marker.
