Gmina Solina, Rural municipality in Lesko County, Poland.
Gmina Solina is a rural municipality in southeastern Poland that encompasses around 17 villages. The administrative structure includes settlements such as Berezka, Myczków, and Polańczyk across the territory.
The original village of Solina was first documented in 1436 but no longer exists today. It was submerged when the Solina Dam, one of Poland's tallest structures, was constructed.
Before World War II, the area was home to Boyko Ukrainians, Jews, and Poles who each maintained their own traditions. This diverse settlement shaped village life for many generations.
The administrative center of the municipality is located in Polańczyk, where most public services can be accessed. From there, visitors can explore the various villages spread across the area.
The municipality contains parts of two protected landscape areas with distinctive ecosystems. This makes the region particularly interesting for visitors interested in exploring natural areas.
