Bereśnik

Bereśnik is a mountain in the Beskid Sądecki range reaching 843 meters, with forested slopes that offer views toward Szczawnica, Pieniny, and the Tatra mountains. The terrain mixes dense forest with clearings that provide different perspectives as you climb.

The slopes functioned as grazing land for sheep in past centuries, with traces of old clearings still visible in the forest today. This history of use shaped the woodland structure you see now.

The Bacówka shelter maintains the regional tradition of mountain huts, where travelers can find local food and rest. This place shows how people have long used the higher elevations as a meeting point during their journeys through the range.

A yellow-marked trail from Plac Dietla in Szczawnica leads to the summit through residential areas and forest paths, taking roughly one and a half hours. Wear good hiking shoes and stay on marked paths, especially during wetter months when the ground can be muddy.

The peak marks a natural boundary between the Czarny Potok and Sopotnicki Potok valleys, sitting at the edge of the protected Popradzki Landscape Park. This location makes it a helpful reference point for anyone exploring wider routes through the mountains.
