Pazurek nature reserve, Nature reserve in southern Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, Poland.
This nature reserve lies in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland and spreads across ancient forests with limestone rock formations and varied forest communities. The highest point, Zubowe Skały, reveals the different habitats that make up the protected landscape.
Established as a protected area in 2008, it preserves ancient woodlands that once surrounded the northern sections of Olkusz town. These forests reflect how the landscape has been shaped over centuries and remain largely unchanged in their natural structure.
The name refers to the rare plant species found here, particularly orchids and wild garlic that thrive in these forests. Visitors walking the trails can observe these protected plants and understand why this area matters for nature conservation.
A five-kilometer walking trail marked in red guides visitors through the landscape and provides educational information about the natural features. Two blue connecting routes link the reserve to Jaroszowiec railway station for convenient access.
The reserve contains an unusually high diversity of mosses with around 86 species thriving in the damp forest areas. These mosses often go unnoticed by visitors but play a key role in the forest ecosystem.
