Wdżar, Mountain in Gorce range, Poland.
Wdżar is a mountain in the Gorce range that rises to 767 meters and provides expansive views across multiple mountain ranges. From the summit, you can see the Tatra Mountains, Pieniny, Beskid Sądecki, and Magura Orawska.
The mountain was mined during the 1870s, with three quarries extracting andesite stone between 1873 and 1877. This material was sent to construct roads and building elements in the region.
The mountain holds a place in local folklore through stories of dragons, marked by a sculpture called Dragon's Nest at the summit. This sculptural presence shows how natural landmarks in the area become part of regional storytelling.
Access to the mountain starts from Przełęcz Snozka parking area along National Road 969, where free parking is available. A blue-marked trail clearly guides you to the summit without confusion.
The mountain exhibits magnetic anomalies that affect compass readings, possibly caused by ancient magnetic processes or lightning strikes. This unusual behavior makes navigation instruments unreliable in certain areas.
