Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and St. Bartholomew in Wrocław, Gothic church in Ostrów Tumski, Wrocław, Poland

The red brick church displays two distinct levels, with the lower St. Bartholomew Church and the upper Holy Cross Church connected by an intricate structural design.

Prince Henry Probus established the church in 1288 as part of a settlement following his political dispute with Bishop Thomas II of Wrocław.

The lower church contains numerous medieval tombs, including the 1341 gravestone of Bishop Nanker and Renaissance sculptures from the 16th century.

The church opens daily for visitors, with separate entrances to the upper level through external stairs and the lower level through ground-level doors.

The building features an unusual architectural solution with two parallel churches stacked vertically, each maintaining independent liturgical functions.
