Church of the Annunciation in Tomaszów Lubelski

The Church of the Annunciation is a wooden house of worship with three naves and two square towers topped by bulbous cupolas. The structure combines timber elements with brick sections and includes underground burial chambers beneath the presbytery and treasury.

Construction began in 1627 when a regional administrator commissioned the building to strengthen the community's faith. A century later, extensive renovation work transformed its appearance and reinforced its role in local life.

The interior displays religious artworks from different periods arranged within a main altar and several side altars. The decoration reflects artistic tastes that were shaped over generations by the community.

The building stands on a central street and welcomes visitors throughout the year. The location is easy to reach on foot and provides direct access to the interior.

The building fuses crafted timber work with solid brick sections in an unusual way for its period. This mixed technique was a rare solution at the time to improve durability and structural strength.
