Rąbka

Rąbka is a tourist district in Łeba located roughly 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) from the Baltic Sea, featuring a network of nature trails throughout Słowiński National Park. The area is shaped by shifting sand dunes and forested landscapes that invite exploration.

The area served as a testing ground for German anti-aircraft missiles during World War II, with bunkers still visible from that period. After the war, the location became an important center for Polish rocket research and atmospheric studies.

The Museum Wyrzutnia displays photographs from Łeba's past, portraits of former town officials, and exhibits about the local rocket research facility. The collection gives visitors insight into the area's distinctive role in the region's scientific history.

The area offers bicycle rentals, electric carts, rickshaws, and horse carriages from May through September for exploring the natural surroundings. Planning your preferred transportation method in advance helps ensure you choose the best option for your intended route.

The site housed Poland's only launch base for research rockets between 1967 and 1974, where atmospheric and weather measurements were conducted. This role made Rąbka an important center in European space research during the postwar era.
