Kościół Najświętszej Marii Panny w Grodzisku, Religious monument in Grodzisko, Poland
The church features a rectangular Romanesque exterior structure, Renaissance vaulting with coffered decorations, and a three-level marble main altar covering the western wall.
The Clarisse nuns constructed the chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1642, replacing their former monastery which lay in ruins.
The church complex includes prayer caves, a hermitage of Blessed Salomea, religious sculptures, and stone walls incorporating figures of historical Polish rulers.
The church sits along two major trails of the Ojców National Park: the red Eagle Nests Trail and the blue Jurassic Strongholds Trail.
A granite obelisk supported by an elephant sculpture carved from a single limestone block stands near the church, commemorating the 1683 Vienna victory.
