Ojców Chapel is a wooden prayer house built across a mountain stream in Poland. The structure rests on concrete foundations spanning both banks of the Prądnik, with a rectangular form and an openwork bell tower rising from its roof.
Built in 1901, the chapel was created when Tsar Nicholas II had forbidden construction of religious buildings on local soil. It replaced the site of former spa baths and served as a way around the restrictions.
The interior features three altars shaped like peasant cottage roofs, reflecting local woodworking traditions. This design connects the space to regional building styles and rural heritage.
The chapel sits beside a wooded stream and is accessible on foot from the village center. The walk there passes through a quiet setting with views of the surrounding gorge.
The roof displays symbols from Poland's era of partitions: eagles representing the nation stand above three snakes symbolizing occupying powers. This patriotic message was carved into the woodwork and remains visible on the building.
