Water tower in Śrem

The Water tower in Śrem is a brick structure approximately 44 meters tall with a square base that transitions to an octagonal top section. The upper portion is covered with ceramic tiles, and the building contains four floors with varied window designs throughout.

Construction of this structure took place from 1908 to 1910 as part of the city's central waterworks system to address water supply needs. It marked an important investment in modern infrastructure for Śrem at the start of the 20th century.

The structure reflects a time when industrial buildings were designed with decorative care, blending practical needs with aesthetic details. The neo-Romanesque entrance and varied window patterns across the levels show how functionality and beauty were meant to work together.

The structure is located on Mickiewicza Street and stands out clearly in the urban landscape due to its height. Visitors should note that it is a protected monument and the interior may not be accessible to the public.

The top of the tower features an unusual design with stepped gables that extend beyond the main body of the structure. These corner towers with octagonal roofs give the building a distinctive silhouette that sets it apart from standard water towers.
