Bałtyk, Office building in Poznań, Poland
Bałtyk is a 67-meter office tower in Poznań with glass facades framed by vertical louvers made from glass-fiber concrete. These louvers manage sunlight while preserving clear views of the surrounding cityscape.
Construction of Bałtyk began in November 2014, when developers buried a time capsule containing a video about Poznań's projected future over 50 years. This symbolic moment marked the start of a significant chapter in the city's development.
The Art Courtyard between this building and Concordia Design hosts sculptures, performances, and film screenings for the public. Local DJs and artists regularly hold events in this shared outdoor space.
The building contains financial and technology offices, a two-level fitness facility, cafés, and restaurants throughout its floors. The 15th floor bar offers panoramic views of the city for visitors and workers alike.
This structure was designed by Dutch firm MVRDV and shifts its visual appearance depending on where you view it from. Different viewing angles throughout the neighborhood reveal varying facade patterns and perspectives.
