Aula Uniwersytecka w Poznaniu, University concert hall in Poznań, Poland

The Aula Uniwersytecka w Poznaniu is a concert hall in the city center built between 1905 and 1910 as part of a royal academy. Inside, a barrel-vaulted ceiling decorated with colorful frescoes from the 1940s depicts Apollo in a chariot with the muses, and the space seats up to 860 visitors across two levels.

Architect Edward Fürstenau designed this building in Northern Renaissance style as part of a royal academy in the early 1900s. After World War II, the interior decorations were renewed and the hall received its present appearance with the impressive ceiling frescoes.

Today the hall serves as the main performance venue for the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra and draws musicians from around the world. The two-level layout makes classical concerts and international music competitions accessible to diverse audiences.

The hall is located at a street intersection in the city center and is easy to reach on foot. Stairs and corridors provide comfortable access to both levels, with clear signage throughout the building.

The hall is known for hosting the International Henryk Wieniawski Competition, one of the world's most prestigious violin competitions held every five years. This event has gathered talented musicians from many countries here for decades.
