Willa Adolfa Landsberga w Poznaniu, Classical villa in Cesarska District, Poznań, Poland.
Willa Adolfa Landsberga is a classical residential building from 1911 located at the corner of Fredry and Wieniawskiego streets. The house features supporting columns, ornate stucco decorations, and a mansard roof with the typical characteristics of classical architecture from that period.
Architect Hans Uhl designed the building in 1911 as a residence for lawyer Adolf Landsberg. After World War II, it served as the United States Consulate from 1946 to 1948.
The villa shows how wealthy lawyers and merchants wanted to live in the early 1900s: with classical details, high ceilings, and a good location in the city. Visitors can still see the careful craftsmanship in the stucco work and overall design today.
The building is located near the Opera House and Wieniawski Park, which makes it easy to find. Today it is used by a publishing company, so inside visits are usually not possible, but the exterior with its details can be admired from the street.
Of the three original similar houses that once stood together on this block, this is the only one that still exists in its original form. The other two were demolished in 1963 to make room for the more modern NOT building.
