Park Henryka Wieniawskiego w Poznaniu, Municipal park in central Poznań, Poland
Park Henryka Wieniawskiego is a green space in central Poznań located between railway tracks and Fredry, Wieniawskiego, and Noskowskiego streets. The grounds contain roughly 260 trees representing 34 species, including notable Russian olive and hackberry specimens, connected by walkways through landscaped areas.
The park was established between 1907 and 1910 as a green space in central Poznań. It suffered significant tree loss during the 1945 battles for the city, after which replanting efforts restored much of its vegetation.
The park takes its name from Henryk Wieniawski, a Polish violinist and composer whose legacy connects this space to the city's artistic traditions. Its location near the Grand Theater reinforces its role as part of Poznań's cultural quarter.
The park is easily accessible from the surrounding streets and offers multiple pathways for exploring the grounds. Visitors should note that the southern section with its sledding hill and restaurant pavilion tends to attract more activity at different times of day.
The southern section features a distinctive sledding hill topped with architectural elements and a small restaurant pavilion called Pegasus Stable. This area stands out for its special design and offers an unexpected contrast within the larger green space.
