Dedinje

Dedinje is a residential neighborhood on the slopes of Topčidersko Brdo hill with large villas, embassy residences, and shaded streets set at elevation. The area spreads across varied terrain with green spaces that separate it from the busier parts of the city.

The neighborhood grew from farmland and vineyards during Ottoman times and transformed into a prestigious residential area after World War I. This shift made it the preferred location for wealthy families and government institutions.

The Museum of Yugoslavia and the House of Flowers draw visitors who want to understand the country's recent past. These sites show how people remember and honor that period of history.

Multiple bus lines connect the neighborhood to central Belgrade, making it easy to reach other parts of the city. The area includes the University Hospital Center Dr Dragiša Mišović, providing important services within the neighborhood.

The Royal Compound contains two palaces, Kraljevski Dvor and Beli Dvor, surrounded by extensive gardens and forested grounds. Visitors can explore the outdoor areas and landscaping to see the architecture and grounds of these royal residences.
