Jewish Historical Museum, Jewish museum in Stari Grad, Serbia
The Jewish Historical Museum occupies the first floor of a 1928 building with a prominent inscription about the Jewish Religious-School Community near the top.
Founded in 1948 by Albert Vajs, the museum chronicles 2000 years of Jewish presence in Serbia through documents, photographs, and personal artifacts.
The museum maintains a collection of 1000 ethnological items, including ceremonial objects and historical documents that represent Serbian Jewish traditions and experiences.
Located in central Belgrade, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, receiving approximately 3000 visitors annually.
The museum archives contain annotated reports about Yugoslav Jews written by Jasa Almuli, a former president of the Belgrade Jewish Community.
