Domodedovo is an industrial city in Moscow Oblast located 37 kilometers south of Moscow, stretching 26 kilometers from north to south along railway lines. The settlement sits on the Moskva-Oka plain at roughly 160 meters above sea level and follows the structure of the train tracks that run through the area.
The settlement began near a railway station in 1900 and gained town status in 1947. The name itself first appeared in written records from the region as early as 1401.
The media landscape consists of the Prizyv newspaper and TV-Domodedovo station, which serve as local information sources for residents. These outlets report daily on regional events and connect the community with what happens across the city.
