Zhukovsky

Zhukovsky is a settlement in Moscow Oblast, Russia, that extends along the river and features scientific buildings and aviation facilities. The urban area spreads across a zone marked by research institutes and runways.

The settlement emerged in the nineteen thirties as an industrial site and later received a new name in honor of a Russian scientist. The renaming took place after the Second World War in nineteen forty-seven.

The town carries the name of an aviation pioneer and hosts research institutions that shape the skies above the region. On weekdays, specialists walk between laboratories and testing grounds throughout the streets.

An airport in the town offers connections to several destinations, while a railway station provides regular trips to central Moscow. Getting there works well by public transport, as the connection frequency is high.
