Rosenau Church

Rosenau Church is a Gothic Revival structure built from red brick, featuring pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and buttresses that support its walls. A tall spire dominates the skyline above the Moskovsky District.

Construction began in 1914 but was interrupted by World War I, resuming and completing between April 1925 and December 1926. The post-war completion reflects how the region rebuilt itself following the conflict.

Originally built as a Protestant place of worship for the Rosenau neighborhood, the building remains a visible landmark in the district. It now serves the Orthodox community, reflecting how religious spaces in the city have transformed over time.

The building incorporates materials from dismantled sections of the historic Königsberg fortifications, showing how local resources were reused for construction. Visitors can observe this material reuse when examining the structure closely.

The Schulte-Heuthaus family, the last owners of the Rosenau estate, donated the land for this religious building in the early 1900s. This private donation shows how wealthy landowners shaped the city's development at that time.
