The Kostroma region Museum of Nature features multiple dioramas presenting local wildlife, plants, and ecological systems through detailed environmental exhibits.

Founded in 1958 as a department of the Kostroma State Historical Museum, the institution became independent in 2001 and moved to a separate building.

The museum exhibits more than 4500 insects collected during the Russian Empire period, along with specimens of regional birds, mammals, and fish species.

Located on Molotchnaya Hill, the museum welcomes visitors from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 18:00, with extended hours until 19:00 on Saturdays.

The museum's dioramas showcase seasonal changes in the region through displays titled Spring, Early Winter, and Root Winter, created by local artists and hunters.
