The Resurrection Church features five domes and a bell tower, displaying traditional Russian religious architecture from the late 17th century.
The church, completed in 1690 under Peter Mikhailovich Saltykov's initiative, underwent substantial restoration work between 1977 and 1988 to preserve its original design.
The interior contains an iconostasis from 1725 created by Kineshma master painters and additional decorations by Kostroma iconographers added in 1838.
Located at Sovietskaya Street 20, the church functions both as a religious center and a museum dedicated to local history and the Romanov dynasty.
The building gained national recognition through Aleksey Savrasov's painting 'The Rooks Have Arrived', which captured the church's setting in Russian art history.
