The Volgograd Railway Museum displays historical locomotives, vintage railway equipment, archived documents, and photographs depicting regional transportation development throughout different periods.
Founded on November 3, 1967, the museum preserves the memory of railway workers during the Battle of Stalingrad and their contribution to the city's defense.
The museum exhibits personal belongings of Sergei Bagaev, who led railway operations in Stalingrad during World War II, alongside railway tickets from 1862.
Located at 66 Militsionera Bukhantseva Street, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with guided tours available.
The museum houses a chair crafted by Zakhar Basargin, station master of Krutaya, which was given as a gift to writer Maxim Gorky.
