Дом Грибоедовых на Новинском бульваре

The Griboyedov House on Novinsky Boulevard displays classical architecture across two floors with a mezzanine level. The facade retains original wooden details and shows evidence of different construction phases over time.

The building existed before the 1812 fire but underwent significant reconstruction and reinforcement afterward. A merchant named Ivan Sidelnikov later took ownership and made additional improvements to the structure.

The house served as home to several Russian writers and artists who gathered here for intellectual exchanges. These meetings became an important part of social life in the Arbat neighborhood during the 1800s.

The building is best viewed during warmer months when the facade details are well lit and clearly visible. It sits in an easily accessible neighborhood with good public transportation connections nearby.

The house features a ceremonial staircase added in 1872 that displays the refined craftsmanship of that era. Later modifications to the rear sections in 1873 gave the building much of its current appearance.
