Feodor Chaliapin House-Museum

The Feodor Chaliapin House-Museum is a residential museum housed in a historic building in Moscow's Presnensky District. It displays furniture, personal belongings, photographs, stage costumes, and set designs from his opera career and everyday life.

The famous opera baritone Chaliapin purchased the building in 1910 and used it as his Moscow home. It opened as a museum in 1988, becoming a memorial to his influence on Russian opera and performance traditions.

The house features a recreation of Chaliapin's dressing room from the Mariinsky Theatre, letting visitors see how he prepared for his performances. Concerts held in the ground floor hall keep the musical traditions he championed still alive today.

The museum sits on Novinsky Boulevard in central Moscow and features clearly marked exhibition rooms spread across multiple levels. Plan to spend a good amount of time exploring the collections and considering any available guided tours to understand the materials better.
