The construction of Paradise Tower commenced in the late 16th century and continued through various phases until its completion in the 1890s.

Visitors can access the tower during castle operating hours and participate in guided tours that explain the defensive systems of medieval Vyborg.
In 1448, the tower witnessed Kaarle Knuutinpoika's departure from Vyborg Castle as he traveled to Stockholm for an important election.
