Митрофановская церковь

Mitrofanovskaya Church is a classical Orthodox temple in Losevo of which only the stone bell tower survives today, displaying symmetrical proportions and geometric lines. The tower stands on Revolution Avenue and exhibits the refined architectural details typical of 19th-century design.

Construction started in 1861 and finished in 1867, with the structure initially registered as the bell tower of the Assumption Church. The building later took the name of Saint Mitrofan, shifting its religious dedication over time.

The temple honored Saint Mitrofan of Voronezh, a figure of local spiritual importance whose name shaped this place's religious identity. The remaining bell tower still reflects the devotion that once brought people to this site for worship and prayer.

The bell tower is visible from the federal highway Don, serving as a clear landmark in the landscape. Its location on Revolution Avenue makes it accessible to visitors interested in exploring classical architecture and the region's heritage.

The bell tower is the sole surviving piece of a larger 19th-century religious complex, as the main church building itself did not endure. This architectural fragment offers a window into how spiritual spaces were built during that earlier era.
