Дом-музей И. Н. Крамского

The Ivan Kramskoy House Museum is a former residence in Ostrogozhsk that displays the Russian painter's personal belongings, artworks, and documents. The rooms are arranged to show how the artist lived and worked in this family home.

The building was constructed in the 1830s by the artist's father, Nikolai Kramskoy, as the family home. The house received protected cultural monument status in 1974 and was opened to the public as a museum in 1987.

During restoration work, workers discovered an original two-kopeck coin hidden beneath a main support beam. It had been placed there following a traditional Russian custom meant to bring good fortune to the household.
