Tuvan Cultural Center

The Tuvan Cultural Center is a two-story timber building in Kyzyl that houses multiple performance spaces, including a concert hall seating around 150 people. The interior features decorative elements inspired by Scythian artistic traditions.

The center opened in 2012 as a government-backed institution designed to bring together the region's artistic ensembles under one roof. The musician Kongar-ol Ondar was instrumental in establishing this cultural project.

The center serves as a gathering place where visitors can witness traditional throat singing performances and view local craftsmanship on display. The spaces reflect how the region's artistic traditions continue to shape daily creative practice in the community.

Visitors can watch the National Orchestra rehearsing on weekdays from 10 AM to 2 PM in the upper-level studio. It is worth checking ahead to confirm that no special events are scheduled.

The basement contains specialized rehearsal rooms where various musical groups practice their craft. Right next door, the International Scientific Centre of Khomei operates, providing research and insights into the techniques and history of this regional singing tradition.
