The Yunusov-Apanayev House exhibits ornate architectural details with towers and wrought-iron elements incorporated during its 1902 reconstruction by architects Heinrich Rusch and Ferdinand-Julius Amlong.
Initially constructed in 1863 for merchant Ibragim Apakov, the mansion underwent major changes after a fire in 1902, transforming from a private residence into a commercial space by 1906.
The building represents a fusion of Tatar and European architectural influences, reflecting the multicultural character of Kazan during the early twentieth century.
Located at 74 Tukaya Street, the Literary Museum inside operates Tuesday through Sunday, offering guided tours and cultural programs primarily in the Tatar language.
The mansion contains a literary museum dedicated to Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, displaying personal artifacts including his death mask and photographs from the period.
