Author Nikolai Gogol spent his final days in 1852 at this house, where he burned a manuscript. The building later became a museum to document his life and work.

The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday with extended hours on Thursdays. Admission is free every third Sunday, and guided tours through the exhibition are regularly offered.
