Description
Dobrolyubov's mansion is a two-story residential building from the early 1800s in classical style with a symmetrical facade and detailed stone carvings around windows and doors. Inside, the rooms remain in their original condition, furnished with pieces and decorations from the time when Dobrolyubov lived there.
History
The building was constructed in 1838 as a home for a wealthy merchant family. It was converted into a museum in 1971 to preserve the memory of literary critic Nikolai Dobrolyubov, who was born here and shaped Russian intellectual thought.
