Pride of Muslims, Mosque in Shali, Chechnya.
Pride of Muslims sits in Shali as one of the large Islamic prayer houses in the Chechen Republic. Four slender towers surround a central dome, and the facades wear white Greek marble that gives the entire complex a bright appearance.
Work began in 2010 under the guidance of local and international building specialists. The inauguration took place in August 2019 and marked an important moment for the religious community of the region.
The interior prayer hall includes a marble minbar decorated with gold leaf and intricate stone carvings created by ten skilled artisans.
The main hall and outer courtyards together provide space for tens of thousands of worshippers during major feast days. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and remove shoes before entering the prayer areas.
Ten stonemasons crafted by hand the ornaments inside the pulpit, which were decorated with gold leaf. The bright marble cladding reflects sunlight and helps to cool the surroundings on hot days.
