Villa Mullberget, Historical villa in Djurgården, Stockholm, Sweden
Villa Mullberget is a residential building in Djurgården with dark brown shingle walls, green glazed tile roofing, and granite foundations. The structure blends Swiss-style design with later modifications and sits directly along one of the island's main roads.
The building was constructed in 1889 as a Swiss-style house designed by architect E. Lundroth. In 1909, Ragnar Östberg carried out extensive renovations that fundamentally changed its appearance.
The villa sits among tall pine and oak trees that frame the water views, creating a secluded retreat despite its location on a busy thoroughfare through the island.
The house sits along Djurgårdsvägen between Nedre Manilla and Täcka udden, making it easy to visit nearby attractions like Skansen or the ABBA Museum. Access is straightforward since the building fronts the main road.
The Larsson family lived in the house for 70 years until 1981, when bank director Rune Barnéus and his wife took over. Interior decorations were created by Filip Månsson, while the living room columns were crafted by Elis in Taserud.
