Naturreservatet Hälleskogsbrännan is a large protected area spanning three municipalities with lakes, recovering forest zones, and research monitoring sites distributed across the terrain. The reserve was established in 2016 following a major forest fire that swept through the region in 2014, leaving burned areas that became part of the protection plan. This foundation allowed researchers to systematically study how the ecosystem rebuilds over time.
