Engelsberg Ironworks, Industrial heritage site in Fagersta Municipality, Sweden

The Engelsberg Ironworks complex contains multiple buildings including a blast furnace, smithies, and a manor house spread across 23 acres of land.

Established in 1681 by Per Larsson Gyllenhöök, the ironworks developed into one of the most advanced iron production facilities in Sweden during the 18th century.

The site represents the evolution of Swedish iron manufacturing techniques, which influenced industrial practices and economic development throughout Northern Europe.

Visitors can access guided tours of the preserved structures, attend educational seminars, and participate in research programs focused on industrial heritage.
