Rumskulla oak, Ancient tree in Vimmerby Municipality, Sweden.
The Rumskulla oak is a venerable tree near Norra Kvill National Park in Vimmerby Municipality, Småland. Standing 14 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 13 meters, it displays the broad limbs characteristic of an ancient oak.
Swedish naturalist Magnus Gabriel Craelius first documented this oak in 1772, already describing it as very old. Since then, the tree has survived two more centuries and now ranks among Sweden's oldest living trees.

A protective fence keeps visitors 5 meters away from the trunk to prevent root damage. Marked trails from the parking area lead to several viewpoints offering different angles of the tree.
The trunk contains a complete hollow interior that required support systems of wires and chains installed in 2013. These reinforcements help the empty shell remain upright despite lacking a solid core.
