Hong San See, Taoist temple at Mohamed Sultan Road, Singapore.
Hong San See is a Taoist temple on Mohamed Sultan Road built with curved roof ridges and decorative carvings on granite columns. The structure displays traditional Hokkien design across its multi-tiered layout.
The temple was originally established on Tras Street and relocated to Mohamed Sultan Road in 1907. Its current building was constructed between 1908 and 1913.
The temple remains a living place of worship where visitors and locals come to pray and make offerings during festivals and regular days. The arrangement of shrines reflects how the community continues its spiritual traditions in this setting.
The temple is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM with no entrance fee required. Fort Canning MRT station is the nearest public transport option.
Materials were imported from China during construction and traditional jian nian decoration techniques were applied without using nails. This carpentry method reflects an old craft skill that has become rare.
