National Stadium

The National Stadium is a sports facility in Kallang with capacity for 55,000 spectators and features a large retractable roof. The structure includes multiple dining outlets, retail spaces, and storage areas for sports equipment.

The current facility opened in 2014, replacing the original 1973 structure and continuing the long sports tradition of the Kallang district. The rebuild represented a major upgrade to Singapore's sports infrastructure.

The venue serves as the main stage for Singapore's National Day Parade on August 9th, where crowds gather to witness military displays and civic celebrations. It has become the place where citizens come together to mark their national identity.

The venue sits directly above Stadium MRT station, making it easy to access by public transport. Arriving early helps you explore the facilities thoroughly and avoid crowds during peak times.

The building features an integrated cooling system that lowers temperature through natural ventilation without relying on air conditioning. This design allows comfort to be maintained naturally while saving energy.
