Kui Buri National Park, National park in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand
The 969-square-kilometer protected area contains deciduous forests and grasslands where elephants and gaurs roam in their natural environment.
The Thai government established Kui Buri National Park on March 25, 1999, to preserve the local wildlife and prevent habitat loss in the region.
Local rangers from surrounding villages conduct guided safaris through designated areas, sharing their knowledge of the land and its inhabitants.
Wildlife viewing tours operate daily from 2 PM to 6 PM, with visitors traveling in open-air vehicles accompanied by experienced local guides.
The park holds the exclusive right to harvest sandalwood trees for Thai royal cremation ceremonies, with nine century-old trees selected for King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
