Pa Hin Ngam National Park, National park in Chaiyaphum Province, Thailand
Pa Hin Ngam National Park is a protected area in Chaiyaphum Province, northeastern Thailand, known for its rock formations, open grasslands, and natural woodland. It sits at the edge of the Dong Phaya Yen mountain range, where flat meadows alternate with clusters of weathered stone outcrops.
The area was surveyed by the Tep Satit Forestry Department from 1985 and received official national park status in 2007. That designation marked the start of active protection for the rock landscape and the native plants that grow there.
The park holds meaning for local people who mark seasonal changes through celebrations tied to when native plants flourish. Visitors can sense this connection to the land while walking through the different areas.
The park is reached via Highway 205 from Nakhon Ratchasima, and there are camping areas and an information center on site. Footwear with good grip is worth bringing, as many paths cross uneven ground and rocky sections.
The Siam tulip, known in Thai as "Krachiao", grows wild across the park's grasslands and blooms in pink and white during the rainy season. Unlike typical flower displays, the blooms appear directly from the ground without visible stems, scattered among the rock outcrops in a way that surprises first-time visitors.
