Ophryneion, Ancient ruins in Troad region, Turkey
Ophryneion is an ancient settlement and archaeological site in the Troad region of Çanakkale Province, Turkey. It sits on elevated ground near the coast and preserves traces of defensive walls, stone foundations, and building remains from different periods.
Ophryneion was founded in antiquity and was actively connected to regional trade during the Hellenistic period. Later Greek and Roman influences left their mark on the site, which was gradually abandoned over time.
